It is the time of the sun. 

As we approach summer solstice, the sun is the highest point in its annual arc across the sky.  This provides a wonderful opportunity to experience its warmth, and invigorating and transformative powers, as it moves and awakens us in its cycle of light.  The Earth is full and rich in its bounty, gestating all that we have planted into full bloom, many fruits and plants already ripening.  It is a time for joy, abundance, celebration.  And, certainly, our ancestors appreciated the season in such ways.

 

From an indigenous perspective the sun is, also, a gateway, or portal, through space and time, to other dimensional aspects of the universe, or states of consciousness.  This prime solar time of the year, is a time for reflection, and interaction with these principles of the sun.  The sun and solar light principles are most empowering for those who conscientiously understand how to work with them.  Though, as we know, just bathing in the sun, we gather its warmth and vitality.  It is, also, a time of the year many cultures focused on ‘anchoring’ the sun in ceremony, in solar temple complexes, to feed and rejuvenate the land and the people.  The “hitching posts” in so many of the Incan solar temples would be one example of where this was done. Indeed, our advanced level group will be engaging in such ceremony in the solar temples of two of the high mountains of this region over the next week, to benefit the Earth and people of this region, as it has always been done throughout the world.  And we seek to do this in our Earth Mystery programs annually, here, and in other parts of the world.

In this time of Solstice, the sun is at its zenith, its highest point in the sky, at noon day in the northern hemisphere.  It is the closest to the Earth (to the northern hemisphere,) during this time of year.  Thus, its potency is at its highest, and thus, the ability to receive the benefits of its vibrant, charging and transformative power is at its zenith, as is the ability to utilize the sun as a gateway into other worlds. 

The earth has an electromagnetic field which continually charges, neutralizes, clarifies, nourishes and recharges its existence, just as does the electromagnetic field, or biofield, around our own body.  This of course, is a subtle field, spoken of by wisdom schools, but also confirmed by modern science, as fundamentally all living organisms have a determinable electromagnetic field.  It is part of the interconnective field of the universe, or matrix of life, woven into the fabric of life we see and feel, and interact with consciously, and unconsciously.  It is a place of interconnection with life, a place to commune and communicate, to transmit and receive information and life force, with other aspects of the universe.  There is a ‘zero point’ in the heart, as well as in each chakra, where we can enter into such communion.  Spaciousness is one of the methods we use to enter this exchange.

The health and well-being of the Earth, Our Selves, and every living organism, in part, is determined by the quality of that biofield.  The Earth’s field is in a time of transition, as modern science has reported for some time.  Actually, a number of respected scientists in their field are concerned the Earth’s electromagnetic field is ready to shift dramatically, as it has exhibited behaviors common before such shifts.  And, those scientists are not certain the impact this may have on our civilization, but suspect major changes would occur, especially in our technological way of life, with a sudden EM or polar shift.

Some esoteric specialists believe our human electromagnetic field is quite dependent upon the Earth’s, and suggest that, as it goes through radical, chaotic, and unpredictable behavior, as it is doing, this, also, affects our own well–being and stability.  This makes perfect sense.  The chaotic behaviors of the Earth’s EM field could be attributed, at least in part, to impact the changes in weather patterns we are seeing, as well as the emotional escalation of stress and chaos we see in our societies worldwide.  Yet, the same specialists would say as we become more awakened, self-empowered and self-determined in our own wisdom, infinite connections, and behaviors, that we can generate a self-sustaining biofield not reliant on the well-being of the Earth’s field.

To do so requires our continual practice in self-realization, purification, and alignment with the Principles of the Cosmos.  The purpose becomes that we are empowered to the point to be self-regulating, and not dependent on the forces of nature or others around us to determine our mood or behavior, etc.  Entering harmonious relationship with the elemental consciousness of all aspects of nature becomes one of the many empowerments gained by such self-realization, as seen in so many world traditions, from the achieving of the Siddhic powers of India, to the understanding of Quan Yin riding the dragon, the Incan Priest opening the Gateway to the Sun, or Christ walking on water.  

We wish to offer you such practice of harmonious relation, and self-generation and empowerment, in relationship with the Sun and Solar Principle (that power and consciousness behind the Sun.)  Utilization of such practice will enliven, invigorate, clarify, and charge one’s vital field with the essence of that Principle, as well as offer unique insight through utilizing the portal of the Sun for exploration of the Cosmos and its relation to the inner Psyche.

That practice will follow, below.  But, first, we wish to offer these thoughts:

We have offered numerous articles and meditative practices through the years, regarding beneficial ways to interact with the elemental consciousness of the Earth and nature, and with the Sun and the solar energies to revitalize, heal, and charge ourselves with its vital photonic energies.  But, we want to offer a new practice here, for those it may serve.

Self Generation Practice with the Sun and Solar Principles

Preparation:

At its zenith, the sun is dispensing pure photonic qualities which can clarify, charge and vitalize our field.  It offers direct conscious interaction with the quality and consciousness of the Sun, and that Principle behind the Sun.  Holding, conscious, harmonious relationship with the living aspects of the Cosmos is a consistent understanding of most wisdom and indigenous schools of spiritual thought, and is critical to one’s self evolution and realization as a spiritual participant in the unfolding of this Cosmos.  The Sun, the Moon, the Earth, are principle entities in our realm of being, and highly beneficial to interact with and enter intentional if not sentient relations with each of these, which are among those of this world and the next, which we refer to as “Holy Beings” in reverence to their placement in our realm of being.

We can utilize these qualities of the Sun at any time of day or night, but when the Sun is high in the sky is a most excellent time to create such interaction.  Also, this practice is most beneficial on clear atmospheric days, as the atmosphere of the Earth is then most highly charged itself, and this more easily reflects in our own biofield, or, is at least much more viable or available.  To create a clear and charged biofield extends wellness, improves mood, incites inner understanding, insight, connectivity, and wisdom, and most likely leads to greater physical well-being.  On clear atmospheric days, there appears to be a direct photonic charge occurring with the electrons of the atmosphere, much like the northern lights become visible charges of the photonic properties of the sun as it courses through the plasmic field of the Earth under the most ripe of conditions.

Imagine your biofield is similar, and will receive the nourishment, clarification, transformation, rainbow vitality, and wisdom of the Sun, just as does the Earth, with the beauty you would see coursing through the atmosphere should you be able to experience the northern lights!  Again, on the clear atmospheric days, there is a more tangible, visceral potential available to us to ignite our own biofield with the qualities of the Solar Principle.  This practice can be achieved on any day, but we are recommending a day in which you can already perceive a clear atmosphere around you.

It is best to be outside, in nature, with a horizontal view, though this can be done in your living room, in a city park, atop a city building, or wherever you live, or are able to practice.  It is not intended to make it difficult to participate.  Yet, the more ‘natural’ the setting, without human imposed intervention in the environment, and with a broad horizontal view to take in as much of the richness of the Earth, and expansiveness of the atmosphere and sky, the more easily one can reap the entire benefits of the practice.  Rather than worry over your environment, or postpone the practice till you can be in such a location, we would encourage you to practice in the most suitable environment your current living arrangements and relaxing times can offer.

 

The Practice

We suggest a time when the sun is high and out in the sky, on a clear atmospheric day, where the photonic qualities of the sun charge the electrons in the atmosphere, integrated, empowered with the photonic field of light of the sun, and this creates a connective principle with the spaciousness of the heart.

This could be coupled to the Tibetan understanding, and practice, in which spaciousness in the heart is coupled with light, bliss, or one pointed consciousness in the third eye, then uniting the two.  This is considered a high practice, and fast road to enlightened being.  (It is also the principle of our “Light of Creation” practice available here.)  This may become more clear as we outline the full practice.

We suggest finding a quiet place to rest and relax, in nature, with an open, spacious, and horizontal view, so the Earth stretches out before you, and the sky expands out above you.  Just by reading this, we can see how much our heart and mind want to open up as we simply contemplate, or imagine, such a setting.  In this way, one can imagine such a setting while utilizing this practice in their own meditative space, or a more limited setting outside.  A felt sense of spaciousness is key to the practice.

It is best to engage in the practice while the sun is high overhead. Not necessarily at noon, but while its vitality is strong from mid to late morning till mid to late afternoon.  It is helpful, though not necessary, to be facing the general direction of the sun.  Throughout the practice, we do not want to look directly at the sun, but it is in our field of vision.  By holding awareness of the sun in the spaciousness of the sky, in the presence of the earth, we generate a field of perception that initiates the process of integration of the Principles of the Sun, without thinking, just allowing and being. 

We begin in the heart; we open to the spaciousness around and above us, and use these felt senses to engage a felt sense of spaciousness within our heart chakra.  We do this in the presence of the Earth, preferably with a horizontal view so there is openness around us.  This could be one beside a lake, by a field, on a mountaintop, by the ocean, etc.

We begin the practice through the felt sense of spaciousness around us, and within us.  We can move and integrate our awareness from eyes open to eyes closed, and back and forth several times, such that the environ around us compels us to enter a felt sense of the great space around us, and we bring that into our inner world within.  Through these felt senses of the heart opening and expanding, we let go of all other felt sensations, thoughts, or feeling states.  We open to the bounty of the Earth before, seeing the beauty and richness of its texture, of every living thing we perceive (or imagine.)  We allow the heart to be illuminated by the bounty and beauty of the Earth, so our body and  heart become as one with body and heart of the earth.  We simply rest in this principle for a while, allowing it to take hold.  We enter a felt sense of spaciousness around us, and within, letting go of other sensations, then, take in the rich bounty and beauty of the Earth around us, breathing it in and out, and integrate that into our inner wellness experience, until that rich texture of the Earth becomes as the same rich texture of our own body, bones, tissue, muscle, organs and blood.  Again, we can use our imagination to be out in a place of beauty if we are doing this indoors or in a less pristine environ.

With every breath and aspect of this practice, we come more and more into an expanded state of stillness, or presence.  We are present in this moment, experiencing the spaciousness and beauty around and within us.  We let go of every other thought or feeling state which arises, and focus our attention on this, becoming fully present in an expanded state of spaciousness, resting on the Earth, becoming as one with it.

This can be done with eyes open or closed, but after some time, enter the inner field of perception, and establish a keen felt sense of spaciousness and beauty within, with eyes closed.

Once we have fully entered, and rested in this state, with a felt sense of being fully present in the moment, in the beauty and spaciousness within, we open our eyes, again, and come into a more visceral perceptual experience of the Earth around us.  We enter a relationship with the Earth, feeling the beauty and bounty of every aspect of perception we have of the earth spread before us.  We become a part of that, simply by being present within it.  There becomes a reciprocal or visceral understanding and presence of the Earth becoming part of our experience, as we become part of it, breathing out into, breathing back in from, and letting any boundaries of perception meld into the perception of the world around us.

When we have this expansiveness or openness to the earth as part of us, we open our eyes to spaciousness of the sky and allow our awareness to open to the broad expanse and awareness of the sky above us, and eventually glimpse the sun.  Let the sun become part of our expanse, and within the global awareness of the space of the sky in relation to the Earth, comes the single pointed awareness of the Sun as a point of light in the atmosphere.  Feel its light pouring down, penetrating, clarifying and vitalizing the atmosphere throughout the sky, as well as your own atmosphere, or biofield.  Breathe back and forth with the sun, until it becomes a visceral part of your experience.

We enter single pointed awareness in relation to the Sun as a source point of Light, while holding expansive awareness in the heart with the spaciousness and connection to bounty and beauty of the earth and sky.  The heart is in great spaciousness.  The point of light above us will become a single point of light in the crown, third eye, or 8^th chakra above, as we continue the practice.

 

These are the key elements we are working with.  Each is  important and beneficial if not crucial to the practice, that we hold visceral awareness of these elements.

·         Single pointed awareness of the sun

·         in relationship to the spaciousness of expanse of the horizonal view  

·         Holding within it the bounty of our earth and our body as it becomes a visceral experience

·         we are resting in space, as a part of the earth which we are resting upon

·         the clarity of the atmosphere above us is charge d with the vital light and the single pointed awareness of the sun in that sky.

Rest in this a moment, with these key elements all in place.

Breathe in and out, allowing the source point of Light, and the Vitality of the Sun to pour through your awareness.

 

If there are clouds in the sky embrace them as part of the visceral experience; being present allows for direct perception, which allows for visceral knowing of all of these elements of the practice.

·         The clouds, the sun, the charged atmosphere, the earth, you part of it, the photonic principles of light of the sun highly charging and empowering you with the light principle, just as the atmosphere around you.

At some point, your biofield and atmosphere should become unified in this way.

By choosing a clear day, the clarity of atmosphere allows for this higher degree of charge in the atmosphere.

·         The clarity of atmosphere allows for a higher charge or power from the solar principle.  This, also equates to your own biofield.  Do this with your biofield, and equally, it will be more highly charged by the source point of light within you or in the heavens above, as you see this.  Thus clarification of your atmosphere is beneficial.  Working to clarify or purify all aspects of your own biofield improves your ability to gain charge and vitality from these principles outside of self.

Here we are with these elements, again, in our visceral perception

Rest with this and allow it to vitalize and charge you as long as you want to.

Take in and note all of the visceral perceptions you have, all of the animals, flowers, plants, trees, forests, mountains, waters, all you perceive, allow yourself to take in, absorb and exchange, breathing in and breathing out, creating Ayni, or reciprocation, with all you perceive, as you allow it to be part of your atmosphere, part of your experience, part of your being, part of your existence, part of your essence.

Part II

Now let us enter a deep communion with the sun.

Allow our awareness to enter a more direct unified single pointed perception of the sun and the solar principle.

As we have suggested, perhaps face the sun, but not looking directly at it, eyes closed, focus our awareness in the sun as if it was in our 3^rd eye, crown, or 8^th chakra, (resting about 9-12” above the head.)  Let the sun melt into this point in our energy field, such that we experience the two as one.  Feel where the Sun chooses to rest, in one of these three sacred energy centers.  Be one with that, letting all other feeling states go. 

Rest in that.

Feel the principle of the sun, feel the single point of light.  Let these two points, above, and within, be one.  Then allow space and Earth and you, all be unified, all one.

And, then, again, rest there, as long as it is beneficial.

Final stage of practice.

The sun is a portal.

It is a gate, and the Sun a gatekeeper, and therefore a portal into other dimensional awareness.  This is understood, honored, revered, and utilized by wisdom and indigenous cultures world wide.  Just as one can journey through one’s own heart, third eye, or other energy center, through the Heart of the Earth, the Moon, or the Sky, one can utilize the gateway of the Sun.
Do this conscientiously, and know you can bring yourself back.

Once you rest in that portal of light, the sun and 3^rd eye, crown, or 8^th chakra as one, follow that point of light out.

Follow the sun in and out, as a point of light, and as a portal to worlds beyond it

It is a gateway to other worlds and celestial worlds beyond.

You may enter deep space, the solar vortex, or the temple of the sun, and the council of elders or holy ones you are ready to meet there; or, a council of stars, a nebula, a star field, a constellation, or journey into deep space, into the heart of the galaxy, and other potentials.  Look, listen, feel, where your body, heart, awareness, wishes to take you.

We suggest not to direct the experience, but to allow your own higher wisdom to guide you in this practice.

You might ask what is waiting for you there.

You might invite what is waiting for you there to come forward, the wisdom of the Sun, your own holy guides or teachers, or power allies, the council of holy beings you may work with, a council of star beings, a constellation of stars, etc. etc.  There are many potentials.

Or, you might journey home to your own star realms

Whatever is awaiting you, we highly recommend you let it occur.

 

When you are ready, come back to your senses, here now, resting on this mountain, in this living room chair, wherever you are, fully re-enter this body’s orientation and experience, more fully vitalized charged, and carrying the Wisdom of the Cosmos with which you can enjoy a greater, more productive and bountiful life.
