I was standing on a balcony of Lyndon State College during a break in presentations.  There it was again.  This immense, pyramidal mountain, off, in the distance, pulsing its life force.  I heard it, calling me.   “Come, come,” like a rhythmical pulse of life, the voice of the mountain, asking me to come closer to it, to come into relationship with it; to approach it, to speak with it.  It had something to offer.   The mountains had become my great allies in my life and work.  Along with the many beings of the subtle realms whom have come to me, spoken (or sung,) to me, or through me, awakened me, and taught me, since I was barely a man.  Their language is not always in English, to say the least….  The mountains of this region had been talking to me since I was first here, some 40 years ago.  Mt. Ascutney was one of the first.  This was one of the latest in the evolution of awakenings to the conscious, sentient voices of the “Apus,” the spirits of the mountains, calling me to relationship, and to do work. 

Indeed, I knew it, I had work to do.

I knew it, but ignored it, once again.
Time.  I did not have the time, I argued.  I was in the midst of professional presentations at the college, within sight of the mountain in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.  Time is the essence, but, also the culprit.  There is not enough time, I argued with myself.  It must be another day, another journey.  Something dedicated just to the mountain.  But, rarely am I in northern Vermont.  And, it is a long journey to even get here….. 

(As it turns out, that day would come.  And bring some of the most incredible experiences I could possibly imagine, if not more than that, to me, and to others working with me in relationship with this mountain, and other “Apus” of the region, not just mountain spirits….. )

As the mountain moves out of sight, my memory of its calling, fades, equally.

That is not always the case.  There are those times the mountains, and many others in the subtle worlds, come to me in the moment I am there, in their presence, to speak and guide me.  I have learned, through years of experience, some pure trial and error, how to approach and awaken ‘relationship’ with the spirit beings of a location, whether it is a pristine valley or gorge in Vermont, a great stone, maple, oak, or pine, or the Great Pyramids Giza, the temples of Stonehenge or of Machu Picchu, or other locations.  They come, also, and awaken me, often from great distances, to teach me how to interact with the inherent and human molded energies of a place.  The wisdom keepers of many sacred sites have awoken me, months, even years, before I ever imagined going to them, to teach me how to utilize their pristine energies.  I remember telling the ‘keepers’ of Stonehenge, this is all very good, but I have no intentions of going to Stonehenge, when they came, woke me night after night, and taught me how to invoke explicit qualities of cosmic energy into its axis, and geometries infused in stone, utilizing the necessary ingredient of human intelligence and intention, to activate the Earth’s DNA at a deeper core level during this time of planetary transition…..  “This is all very good,” I said to them, “but I have no intention of going to Stonehenge.”  Then, just 2 weeks later, my now dear friends Glenn and Cameron Broughton asked me to join them on a sacred tour of the stone sites of Great Britain, following the telluric pathways of the Michael and Mary energy currents, through the days of Beltane.  We, indeed, engaged in the very practice I had been taught just months before, to collaborate the human spirit with the intelligence of the Cosmos and its Allies, to infuse a greater spiral of life into the DNA of the Earth, for these times of Great Awakening.

This is how it happens.  The ‘gatekeepers’ and ‘wisdom keepers’ of sacred sites approach me.   This is after years of learning how to approach them, in reverence, humility, and trust.  Sometimes after I have visited a place, often creating basic relationships with these beings who maintain the integrity of a sacred site; but, sometimes, it is before I ever enter relationship with the site or its keepers in person.  They come, awaken me, and instruct me of what there is to be done here, the secret treasures hidden there, or the intentions of the makers of the site, still available through the pristine awareness of the spiritual wisdom keepers and guardian beings abiding there.

And, here was this mountain, Bald Mountain, calling me, every time I came close to it!  I honored it, but never ventured closer.  It was always in the distance, I always had something more immediate, or important, to do in my life, from my limited view.  Yet, here it was, pulsing the beat frequency of the Rhythm of Life, in Harmony with Life, ‘calling me home.’

I moved to Ascutney (Vermont) in 2001.  I had been in the shadow of the great mountain the village is named after, for some time already.  I had come into relationship with it as a living being, quite earlier in my life.  It was one of the first spirit beings who revealed itself to me, through its earth plane existence, as Guardian of this region.  It called me to come closer into relationship with it, and the home I chose rests within its field of resonance.  A rainbow, literally, appeared over the village as I turned to come here the day I first looked at what is now my home.   Indeed, the gorgeous brook cascading down the fields and gorge next to my house rise from sacred springs on its shoulders, and falls down, passing my house.  And, my knowing.   I bathe in these waters daily during warm weather months.  I call upon the wisdom and blessings of the Grandfather, and all working with me, to bless this work, every day as I bathe in those waters. 

Within two months of moving in, I had experienced an emotionally troubling experience, and was about to slump on my couch, giving away a Friday night, if not an entire weekend, to the apparent despondency of the situation.  In a moment of courage or insight, I said to myself, no, I am not going to slump on the couch.  I am going to pick up a drum and chant.  I had no intent beyond that.  Just chant versus slump.  I picked up my bear drum and started a slight invocation of goodness.   Almost immediately, there appeared in my living room, through the subtle fields of perception, three great wise elders, crouching over a fire in front of them, bent over, long gray hair cascading down their shoulders, dark blankets enveloping their bodies, large, wide brimmed hats on their heads.  A small river separated us.  They beckoned me over, and I came.  (In 3D, all of this time, I am standing in my living room, chanting and playing ‘Bear,’ the drum.  The river was shallow, not hard to cross.  One of them stood up as I approached and came to me.  As he approached, I realized it was the spirit of Mt. Ascutney. 

He came closer to me, and put his hand on what has become a primary channeling point on the back of my neck.  He said in a deep, gravelly tone, “You need to learn to channel better.”  He then taught me how to use this primary ‘minor’ chakra at the base of the skull to enter deep communion with the spirit of that (being or energy) moving through me when I chant and sing.  He taught me how to come closer to his energy, immerse in him, and how to be a more clear and complete channel of what he has to bring.  When this was complete, he moved away, and the next elder got up, and came over to us, from the fire circle.  As he approached, I realized he was the spirit of Mt. Mansfield.  I had been climbing at least one of these mountains almost weekly for a number of years, (until snow and ice would encrust them,) and entered deep and meaningful relationship with each of them, through my simple prayers and awareness techniques.  These were enhanced through the years with the techniques I learned from various elders and wisdom traditions, especially those of the Q’ero Indians of Peru, the high wisdom keepers of Andean or Inkan wisdom.  But nothing like this had been taught me.  Apu Mansfield came and engaged in a similar deep communion of spirit, allowing me to channel him at a deeper level also, through this new technique.  Then the third elder approached, and I knew it was the spirit of Mt.  Washington, the tallest mountain in New England.

These three elders sat with me for some time that evening, guiding me into their deep wisdom as spirit keepers of the region.  They each are a ‘Grandfather’ mountain.  In indigenous terms, this means they hold the responsibility to oversee the well-being of all things in their field of influence.  As it turns out, these three mountains hold a much deeper relationship with each other than I could begin to imagine.  What happened next, opened a floodgate of profound mystery, interaction, and evolution of consciousness, with the Earth, the rivers and lakes, beings of the forest and wood and meadowlands, as well as the Ancestral and Celestial kingdoms overseeing our evolutionary spiral at this time of Cosmic wonder.   It continues through this day.

This is one of a series of articles which are intended to be educational in nature, as well as provide simple sharings of my life experience.  Of growing importance, of that, to share, is how we can enter valued and nurturing relationships with the elements of the Earth and Sky in our own 'back yard.'
However, these articles, also, will tell the story of the unfolding of the "Awakening of the Dragon," what this means, how and what has been revealed, and in what way it is guiding us today.  We shall also, time permitting, go into explanations of the "LionsGate," a rich star vortex near the peak of Mt Washington, as well as explanation of some of the other 'wonders' of New England which have revealed themselves to us, including, perhaps, most powerful of all, the "City of Light" residing in the subtle realms, accessed through powerful natural portals of this region, and the "Crystal Cathedral", one of the many stone chambers of Vermont, and the mysteries infused therein.

[On Aug 16-23 we will perform ceremonies which comprise the “LIONSGATE:  Awakening the Dragon” program in Northern New England.  These practices are the culmination of my life’s work with the Living Energies of the Earth, and Cosmos, to this time.  They bring together a remarkable union of indigenous teachings of North and South America, as well as collaborations with many others I have worked with, yet, have evolved into far more.  The participants learn explicit practices for self-empowerment, but, equally, are called upon to engage with the Living Energies of the Earth and Sky in pristine energy and awareness exercises, to awaken and harmonize these precious energies and our relationship with them, which are replenishing to ourselves, and, the Earth.   (And more--read on!)]

In LIONSGATE:  Awakening the Dragon, we shall enter pristine natural and ancient ceremonial sites every day, bathe in exquisite mountain lakes, and waterfalls, and, hike the high peaks of Vermont and New Hampshire, which form a perfect Star Tetrahedron.  Don’t be too concerned, we do not do so much climbing, and really, not that much hiking, see our itinerary and logistics for explanations of such things.)  We pamper ourselves in the evenings with great lodging and meals in prestigious retreats and inns, wherever possible.  And, we ‘seed’ the potential of ‘heaven on earth’ into a living prayer wheel created through our work, in collaboration with the elemental forces of nature, and the high holy beings guiding our work.  It is a journey of great personal discovery, empowerment, rejuvenation, and healing which we experience, followed by an act of incredible service to the planet, as called upon, by these elemental beings, drawing upon the dragon currents of living energies which carry the power of our work from all dimensional spaces we have worked in, for the entire week, into the womb of the Mother, through one of the ceremonial chambers, to gestate these seeds of potential, for the benefit of All.

And, our my upcoming School of Sound Healing, a year long training beginning in September, you may enter very heightened states of awareness and experience, learning to work with therapeutic and ceremonial sound healing methods, for self realization and healing, and/or for developing or furthering a healing practice for others, utilizing all principals of understanding, of the use of instruments, voice, intention and awareness, with awakened states of guided intuition.  I pray you may join us.
