We honor our special guest:
Dadbadi
Thaayrohyadi; Spiritual Wisdom Keeper of the Ancient Otomi Toltec
Teotichuacan peoples
Thaayrohyadi will teach Friday
morning, and Sunday afternoon, and offer songs
or invocations at Friday eve concert, and Sunday afternoon worldpuja
world healing ceremonies, live web broadcast.
As founder of the International Indigenous University, Thaayrohyadi is a
traditional healer who travels internationally offering teachings and
ceremonies in the ways of his ancestors. Thaayrohyadi
weaves his healing magic with drums, rattles, conch shells, bells,
flutes, his
voice, rocks, sticks, whistles; just about anything that creates a
vibration of
movement. His relationship to sound is orchestrated by nature. Becoming
one
with the rain, the flowers, the sun, and the wind, he dances sound like
an
environmental conductor of unseen energies.
With
a Masters degree in Peace and Development Studies, he is a specialist
on the
subject of ethnic conflicts, culture and spirituality. He is a Prophecy
Keeper
and Guardian of the Sacred Fire of the Council of the Otomi Nation,
founder of
the Council of Indian Peoples and Organizations of the State of Mexico, and a member of the
Council of Indigenous Priests of the Americas.
Three
hour class, Friday, June 24, 10 AM, in Room 11:
Nzuni
– The Sound of Creation with Maestro Thaayrohyadi
In this class we will
explore Nzuni, the cosmic origin of the fundamental sounds of the
Atlantean
Culture – the Civilization of Silence. As the
guardians of sound, we recognize that even silence has a sound. If you
could slow a sound down it actually consists of silence intervening
with sound.
Think of the sound of corn when touched by the wind. Think of the sound
of dawn
when the day begins.
The beginning of the end
of movement in the universe is the spiral. This is not only a line; it
is a
geometrical form that imparts movement and sound. The conch shell is
representative of the spiral, the sacred symbol we use to send sound to
the
four directions – to the heart of the sky,
the heart of the earth, the heart of the people, and to our humanity –
to align
with Nzuni, the Sound of Creation.
Class will
include:
-Indigenous
& Traditional Principles of Sound Healing
-The
Manifestation of Sound in the Cosmic Order
-Creation
Sound Meditation
-Sounds
of the Four Elements and Mother Nature
-Sounds
for Balancing our Bodies
-The Use
of Sound in Ceremony and Ritual
One
and one half hour class, Sunday, June 26, 1 PM, Main Sanctuary:
Planetary
Harmony – Healing Mother Earth with Sound with Maestro Thaayrohyadi
According
to a prophecy revealed by the Otomí Elder Sages to the
Indigenous Peoples and
all humankind, the day when the sounds of 8,000 Sacred Drums join
together will
be the beginning of the true healing of our Mother Earth. This day has
come. It
is time to organize ourselves to rearrange the violence that is being
generated
by war. This violence is affecting earth patterns. Sound and earth
changes are
connected; there is a movement in relation to Mother Earth and what is
happening with the magma, earthquakes, and the shifting of underground
plates.
Sound healers are being called to weave a web of healing sound that
encircles
the earth, creating a matrix of possibility and harmony. In this class
we will
discuss:
-The Activation of the Power
Sites/Ceremonial Centers
with Sound
-Rekindling
Hope and Compassion
-Recovering
the Sacred
Way
of Life
-Educating
New Generations with Ancestral Wisdom
Thaayrohyadi will also offer songs or
invocations at Friday eve concert, and Sunday
afternoon worldpuja world healing ceremonies, live web broadcast.
