Polarity
Body
– Mind Centering Therapy
Polarity
integrates “The Five elements, Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth, Three
Principles and Five Chakras” of
the East Indian Aryuvedic tradition. At
the same time
enjoying rich ties to modern science, which has
confirmed its
essential theme of energetic relationship as the basis of all phenomena.
In Polarity Therapy, health is
viewed as a reflection of
the
condition of the energy field, and therapeutic methods are designed to balance
your field of energy. We all know when we hear jarring sounds,
experience violent movement,
invasive touch,
poor diet, habitual negative attitudes, exhaustive relationships, and
difficult life experiences, our energies becomes depleted. When
we habitually revisit old trauma's and
recreate detrimental environmental
factors this effects our electromagnet field, causing disharmony,
energetic depletion, and eventually dis-ease.
Happily the converse is true within the Polarity model when we
release old traumas held within our body, mind and spirit fields, and
recreate
healthy environmental factors and patterns, the causes and conditions
for health arise. We then experience a universal principle of balance and harmony, and the vast
potential within for health,
happiness, and inner peace takes place in our lives.
Polarity is
a comprehensive health system involving energy-based bodywork, diet,
exercise
and self-awareness, working with the Human Energy Field,
electromagnetic patterns expressed in our mental, emotional, and
physical
experience.
Polarity
lends an energy-based perspective to all these subjects, and the
practice is
often very broad.
Health
is experienced when our
energy systems function in their natural state;
when energy flows
smoothly.
Polarity Therapy seeks to find the
blockages and release energy to
normal flow
patterns, and to maintain the Energy Field in an open, Flexible
condition.
In
a typical Polarity session energetic attributes will be assessed using
energetic listening, palpation, observation and interview methods.
Sessions take 60-90 mins, do not require
disrobing, and may involve both
touch and
verbal intervention.
Sound Therapy using the
voice, tuning forks, and other musical instruments may also be used
during a session.
Dietary changes, special meditation practices, exercises, Chi Gong,
Yoga and spiritual counseling may also be offered upon request.
The
results may vary, and may include profound relaxation, new
insight into
energetic patterns and their implications, and relief from
numerous
specific problematic situations.

Reverend Miriam
O'Mahony.
Interfaith
Minister, Polarity Therapist, Nutrition and Spiritual
Councilor, singer Sound Healer and workshop leader in practice for
25yrs.
Miriam was educated in a Spanish Convent in England, and came to
America in 1965, where she continued her studies of comparative
religions, philosophy, and theology. Miriam married into a Jewish
family and began studying Judaism almost to Mikva
and conversion, and was blessed with two children. Later as a single
mother developing a keen interest in health and nutrition to raise
her two children in an alternative lifestyle, she went on to
study nutrition, becoming a Nutrition and Lifestyle Consultant,
developing a private practice and Healing Center on Long Island.
Miriam also worked with Gary Null, Dr Levine
and other prominent physicians in alternative,
complimentary medicine. Miriam is a former board member of ACAM, the
American College for the Advancement in Medicine, and traveled
extensively throughout America educating physicians about
alternative
oxidative therapies for the immune system, cancer, arthritis, and other
immune related diseases. Miriam created one of the first Aids
conferences for Alternative medicine at South Hampton College Long
Island, and spent much time
supporting members of this community.
Graduate
of the New Seminary in Manhattan, Miriam has studied
independently with
many
spiritual leaders such as the great
Sufi Master Shaykh
Sidi Mohammed
the head of the Higher Sufi Council in Jerusalem
and the Holy Land,
teacher at the Dome of the Rock. Under Sidi's tender guidance, within the
profound mysteries of Sufism, Miriam
had many realizations of
creation. She learned deep
spiritual
practices, such as Zikr,
and special chants, prayers and meditation practices for lifting the
veils of the heart.
Miriam
traveled to India to celebrate Meher
Baba's Amartithi, to
experience one of the
great masters legacy of love in action, with 70 thousand pilgrims.
During this period she almost died from amebic dysentery and bronchial
pneumonia, but strong faith and a great vision from Baba
added to the ground work for future healing practices
that she would be
sharing .
Recovering from her journey to India, she went to the Optimum Health
Center in San Diego to fast meditate and detoxify. Miriam's dream since she was a
young child was to visit
the Leper colony, to follow Father
Damians ministry, to see where he set up his church to care for
the
most feared of all peoples...She
traveled to Hawaii to visit
Molokai, and Kalipappa,. where she met,
touched and heard
heartbreaking stories from some of the most beautiful and humble people
on earth. While climbing up the steep swish back mountain, looking down
to say a silent good-bye to the people in the old leper colony where
the last 90
souls still lived, she saw heaven and
hell on earth. Incredible and
vivid
beauty on the shores of so much agony,
Outstretched beneath her the vast Pacific
Ocean, a turquoise deep
blue ocean of tears, purple coral,
golden beaches; and rich grass lands leading to tropical
forests. She left the people down there in the village of Kallipappa,
still hidden away from the world even though they could leave, if they
wanted to now that the disease has a cure. They stayed in this place
where people either died of the
deadly disease, were shot trying to escape up the mountain, or
drowned at sea. They stayed,
even though their children had been taken from them. They stayed,
because this place had become all they knew, this place of horror had
become their sanctuary. Suddenly amongst tears of gratitude and grief
she heard
angels singing, as if she was surrounded by a heavenly choir. Unable to
move she
listened and experienced a profound
Initiation and healing through Sacred Sound from a Heavenly Host.
Miriam
studied with Native American medicine people for
four years, went to the reservations and saw where this worlds most
disrespected indigenous peoples still struggle to survive. At the great Sun dance, she was twice
gifted
with the pipe. This most sacred of
ceremonies where both men and women offer their prayers, their bodies
pierced and tied to the tree of transformation. When the last
brave soul pulled back and broke their ties, there would be even more
generosity, love, and compassion. The ending celebration is
called a give away, besides giving their skin, their bodies, prayers
and intention in the blazing summer sun for eight days, the
little they had to share was now laid under the tree for
everyone to share.
The Sun dance is the Transfiguration for the
Native people, a Sacred Sacrament
of immense love, forgiveness and
compassion.
Miriam prayed to
meet a living Buddha, and has
been blessed by her spiritual guide Geshe
Kelsang Gyatso. Geshe-la as he is
endearingly called, fled Tibet when it fell, and was sent to India to
retreat for 18 yrs. He is a highly respected meditation master
and scholar of the Mahayana Buddhist tradition founded by Je Tsongkhapa.
Since arriving in the west in 1977, Geshe Kelsang has worked tirelessly
to establish pure Buddhadharma throughout the world.
He has
transcribed the Sutra and
Tantra practices of Mahayana Buddhism for the western mind.
Geshela
lives at the Manjushri Center in England, in the past 25yrs his work
has spread world wide, and has opened over 800 centers. These
Meditation Centers and Temples are dictated to World Peace to support and nourish
the many generations to come.
Caring for the
dying has been a large part of Miriam's ministry and healing practice,
offering support and spiritual counseling for families of, and
those in transition.
Miriam
has worked with many cancer patients and the terminally ill, providing
palliative care for patients and support for their families, often
performing
ceremony and funerals for the diseased.
In
a Polarity session, Miriam
uses energetic listening, gentle touch, spiritual
counseling, and body mind centering, to facilitate a healing
response. Sound Healing sessions may include "Toning
through Singing The Body", an exercise in Chakra balancing,
sound
healing using tuning forks, drums, voice, and or bowls as
tools for supporting
her clients through a Shamanic journey into personal healing,
and transformational experiences.
Nutrition
and Lifestyle Counseling, Chi Gong, Yoga, and meditations practices are
also offered as part of a healing program.
Miriam
is
Buddhist practitioner, and shares the wisdom blessings, and
transmissions she has received from all her great teachers.
Journey's of
